We also took a tour of the mine - including the open pit. They do both open mining and shaft mining. They have some seriously big toys at this mine!

H can stand on her own! H can stand on her own now and can even take a few steps - mostly when falling - she'll be walking anyday now. Watch out world.

T found a new friend to ride with - his description - "I never rode a chainsaw before - that was fun." There may be a ride to Timbuktu in the future - in September - stay tuned.

We took a trip out to one of the Gold mines in the Western part of the country this weekend. The housing for the staff at the mine is pretty nice (9 hole golf course, swimming pool and playground!). M and H took full advantage of the amenities.

The day before our 5th anniversary, I packed the car for our Easter trip to Lake Bosomtwi and took a GPS reading of the location of our house. I sent Thom a text telling him where to find clue #1. I left town for our anniversary rendevous spot. At lunch he came home and found everything packed and a note giving preliminary coordinates of my location. After work - he hopped on his bike, fought holiday weekend traffic west along the coast. He turned off the unfinished highway where oncoming cars from multiple directions. He turned off towards the beach a bit early - but was then able to ride cross country to find me at this little spot recently opened near Accra - for the fabulously wealthy.

We will be away for atleast part of next weekend. We are planning a trip to Lake Bosomtwi - a deep lake created by a meteor strike a very, very long time ago. We were planning to go to the beach - but I guess everyone else had the same plan - because there wasn't a reservation to be found - anywhere - even in places that haven't really opened yet! It pays to plan ahead.
T was not broken last week - just a little burned and bruised. Well enough to go riding again this weekend to Togo to drop off the BMW to the highest bidder and pick up a new KTM 640.

M is on a break from school until after Easter and spends her days playing with H - who is cruising (walking while holding on to things) but not yet standing up on her own.

M went on an Easter egg hunt at the Ambassador's house on Saturday. She forgot her basket though and had to use her Dora bag. The Easter Bunny didn't seem to mind. H started sleeping through the night this weekend - 2 nights in a row. The scream yourself to sleep strategy seems to be working - especially since we moved her further down the hall. Could it be a trend? Now only if K didn't wake up 3 times a night wondering if she was still alive. T went for a motorbike ride and came home with a potentially fractured wrist and a burned arm - oopsie! We'll see what it amounts to tomorrow.
