H is crawling!

Watch out world - here I come. H has become mobile. We are busy baby proofing all over again. As with most babies - she is most attracted to the thing she shouldn't have. Within one week she is really getting around - moving from room to room and objecting loudly if she gets left behind. She has also started noticing if you take things away from her - she objects to that too. You can imagine how the sibling issues are starting to emerge.

T is finally home for a few weeks from his travels. Doubt we'll see much more of him - between visitors and catching up on work - we are really planning just to see him on vacation in June.

Speaking of vacation - our plans have changed slightly. We are now planning to come back in June (2 weeks) and October/November (2 weeks). We plan to be in Michigan/South Bend in June and in Myrtle Beach/ Baltimore/D.C. in October. We'll keep you posted as plans unfold.

H investigates the pool!
H's first adventure in the pool today was pleasurable for all. Of course Dad had to dunk her under water (splutter splutter). She seemed to enjoy trying to ingest as much water as possible. After that - was an opportunity to eat grass poolside - yum! She is kind of crawling - she can get into a sitting position from her belly and can get around pretty well - but doesn't go too far yet. She'll be chasing us all pretty soon.
M learns to swim!!
Today was the big day - the armbands have been in use for a while - but M still wanted to hold on to someone - but today - she discovered she could float all on her own. In a matter of minutes - she discovered by kicking and paddling - she could even propel herself. That's all it took and she was off.

Happy New Year!

We had a quiet New Year's Eve here. New Year's Day we went to a friend's house for dinner, hung M's new swing and generally relaxed. As the NPP says here "So Far So Good" for 2006.

2005 was a good year for us. Last year for New Year we were on the downward side of our journey around Ghana, overnighting in Nkwanta. Much of the rest of the year was dominated by the pregnancy and then the arrival of H - who at 6 months is a joy (but will she ever sleep through the night?). Other major events included visits from both sets of Grandparents, three months in New Mexico for the delivery with the Pratts, We moved into our new house (or shall I say T moved us), and purchased the new KTM motorbike. Again, we find ourselves very thankful for all we have.
